We went out for the 12-hour co-ed race w Dirty Spoke Productions at the Conyers Horse Park today. The weather started out a lot chiller than we expected but the recent rain produced some serious humidity on the trails. Conyers 6-hours was our first GA race last year and we were looking forward to getting back. Thanks to Charles and Jono for scoring us a good spot next to them and next to all of the Sorella’s. Spending time w friend was just as fun as riding. The course started w a mile of flat horse track and then into the woods with lots of ups and downs and arounds and my favorite which were the wet rocky downhill thru a tiny creek of sorts and then whomp back up the same. I was looking forward to those. Finally you came out to the powerline climb which I was expecting and then back into the woods for some rumbling descents. But then it was grassy flats that kind of felt like you were sinkin
g or climbing the whole time. You shot back into the woods 4-5 times but you knew once you finished the powerline climb you had another 20+ minutes of a new trail to go!Although the second lag of the course gave me painful memories of the 8-hours of labor (riding through grassy knolls and strong head winds) I did enjoy the first part of the course and the day and night with lots of friends made it all worth it. Props to Tim at Dirty Spokes who put on a great event! Chris and I did the team co-ed, again, and came in behind third/last place, AGAIN, ugh. We tried though and we both felt great at the end. Had we enjoyed the course more we would have pushes out more laps, coulda, woulda, shoulda… Oh and thanks Bruce for giving us a hard time all day!

Well done to my Sorella sista’s to Sunny and Anne who took first place for just showing up in the 12 hr - 2P - Female class turned out 11 laps AWESOME! Hats off to the guys who turned out 12, 13, and 14+ laps, dear God! And thanks Johnny for all the support.
What can I say, it was a lot of work but besides the heavy afternoon winds, the weather was great, Norah had fun w new friends, and we were all ridin' and what's better than that!!
